Are you interested in joining Hamilton Mill UMC?

You may join HMUMC by transferring your membership from another United Methodist Church, by transferring from a church of another denomination, by re-affirming your faith or by professing your faith. Re-affirming your faith means that you have been a member of another Christian church but have not been active in a number of years. Professing your faith means that you have never been a member of a Christian church. If you are interested in partnering with us by joining our congregation, we encourage all prospective members to attend one of our Starting Point classes. While this is not a requirement, we believe this class will help you to learn about Methodism, Hamilton Mill UMC and how to become assimilated into the life of the church. We are a congregation that seeks to embody Faith in Jesus Christ, Hope for the world, and Love for God and neighbor.

Our mission is simple: To inspire everyday people to experience changed lives and to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. As God continues to work in your life, we offer a class entitled Starting Point which is four consecutive one hour classes offered six times during the year. We meet from 9:30 to 10:30am in our modular building in room A-6. Starting Point will benefit both the newcomer who is considering joining the church as well as those who are already members but who want to grow spiritually on the path of discipleship. Come make some new friends as we explore together what it means to covenant with God to be a people committed to praying, growing, giving, serving and witnessing in Christ’s name. The starting class schedule for the balance of 2011 is: March 6, May 1, August 1, September 11 and October 23.

We are excited to receive into membership those who want to join by making a first-time confession of faith, by re-affirming their faith, or by transferring their membership from another congregation. We only require two things from you as a new member: 1) that you make a commitment to attend an upcoming Starting Point class; and, 2) that you have a desire to pursue a closer relationship with our Lord. Please take a few minutes to fill out the Family Information Sheet so we will have the necessary information for our data base.
