In this age of job transfers and Internet chat-rooms, Hamilton Mill United Methodist strives to be an extended family to its members. Support is provided through friendship, prayer and pastoral counseling.

Care Force One
Care Force One is "a caring force that grows in spirit, strength and love." Its purpose is "lifting one another up through the Care Ministries of HMUMC as we grow in structure, in spirit and in heart."

The goal of this group is to train and develop a force of caring and concerned crew members, who will help provide the physical, emotional and spiritual support needed in our growing church community. This includes providing meals, sending cards, visitation of the sick and the shut in, and addressing the relevant issues and needs of our congregation and community by facilitating groups to learn, support and grow in our discernment of God's will in the midst of our valleys.

Emotional support is provided through classes on DivorceCare, Rainbows, Parenting Your Parent, Growing Kids God's Way and Marriage Enrichment.

Stephen Ministers are commissioned to serve the congregation. Stephen Ministries is a national program that trains lay people to provide one-on-one confidential care in their local congregations. Stephen Ministers offer a listening ear to help others through the tough times of life in a distinctly Christian way.

The Prayer Quilt Ministry makes and presents handmade quilts to individuals as a tangible reminder that their spiritual family and friends are surrounding them with prayers during a difficult circumstance. Since 2003, over 500 quilts have brought comfort to people within the congregation and the community, as well as their friends and family throughout the United States. Some quilts have even found their way into the arms of soldiers stationed in Iraq.
